May 2006: A sincere thanks to all who participated in our hugely successful opening day on the 26th of April. See below for photos of the day.

April 2006: We have finally moved into the new Cavanagh Building - note new extension number - ext. 1691.

Nov 2005: We are pleased to announce the opening of a new mass spectrometry service at the Chemistry Department, UCC. Further details regarding the submission of samples to follow in the forthcoming weeks.

We have recently acquired two new mass spectrometers from Waters/Micromass: an LCT Premier Time Of Flight instrument and a Quattro Micro triple quadrupole instrument. Both instruments are set up for high throughput Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) and will prove to be a significant addition to the facilities at the ABCRF and the Chemistry Department.

The mass spectrometry group specialises in the characterisation of compounds within the mass ranges of 50-2000 Da. We have well established links with the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry in the Munster region and also with educational institutions throughout the country.

Our turnaround time for priority samples is generally 24-48 hours after receipt. Results can be faxed, posted or sent as email attachments.
