There are Computer Aided Learning tutorials available in the Intel Chemistry Computer Laboratory and the Dell Chemistry Computer Laboratory for First Year Students during each term. These tutorials were designed, written and compiled at UCC using the precise material covered in the appropriate 1997/98 First Year lectures. Some of the material covered in lectures has changed slightly since writing of these tutorials. Please refer to the summaries below. Each module has a Multiple Choice Questions test included.
These Computer Aided Learning tutorials are also available free for downloading and running on home computers. Before downloading the individual modules, please download the parent application (in zipped format). It is advisable, though not required, to create a new folder for the tutorials and the parent application. To run the tutorials double-click the parent application and select one of the tutorials from the list of file names. The software is compatible with Windows 95/98/me/2000/XP.
There are 9 Inorganic, 8 Physical and 7 Organic Chemistry
tutorials currently available. These tutorials compliment the text-book "Connectivities
in Introductory Inorganic Chemistry", written by B. Murphy, C.
Murphy and B.J. Hathaway, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry,
1998 (ISBN 0 85404 553 8).:
