Dara Fitzpatrick has recently joined the UCC Analytical Chemistry Team from Dublin. Dara was one of the first diploma graduates to emerge from the Institute of Technology, Tallaght with a distinction followed by an honours degree from the Institute of Technology, Athlone. He then pursued a Ph.D. and postdoctoral research in Trinity College Dublin under the supervision of Prof. John Corish and he also obtained a H.Dip in statistics during this time.

Teaching Initiatives
Dr. Fitzpatrick is committed to excellence in teaching as demonstrated by winning a Presidents Award for Research in Innovative Forms of Teaching and a Quality Promotion Grant. Since joining UCC Dr. Fitzpatrick has shown a commitment to both undergraduates and postgradutes in furthering their learning objectives. Through a portfolio of teaching it is hoped to improve on delivery, content and learning outcomes of students in a progressive way.
